What is a reasonable price to pay for a large dhufish vase with a hairline crack on the lip and can it be repaired?

    • Hi Clayton – not sure if a hairline can be repaired but I would say yes rather than no – depends if you are buying or selling the fish as to whether you would have it repaired.
Probably $50 upwards to have it repaired and they sell for about $200 upwards when in good condition on ebay
If you are selling it would depend on where you were because if it had to be posted either to or from the Eastern States it would be $30 – odd for postage and buyers would take this amount into the price of the fish.
If you were selling on ebay I would start it at $50 and let the market decide.
      Hope this helps

  • Hi, I have a small jug, approximately 110 mm high. It is an off white with a floral decoration on one side and gilt trim to the rim and handle. The underside has a mark showing a crown and beneath that forming a circle are the words BRISTILE _WEMBLEY.WARE_. Inside the circle are the initials B & W. The W is overlapping the upper part of the B and the ampersand is in the lower half of the B. Are you able to tell me anything about this jug? Regards, Kris

    • Hi Kris your jug sounds as if it was made when Wembley and Bristile were interchanging.
Are there any cracks or crazing?
At the moment it seems as if anyone is able to post photos on this site but it will be coming.
If you would like to email us a photo we would probably be able to give you more information.

  • Hi Adriene- any chance of posting a picture of your vase and where are you located?
Anyone interested in the vase may have to take postage into consideration.
Also are there any cracks, chips or crazing on the vase?
    Please let us know

  • Well let’s see if this is ok – anyone out there???????
Anyone bought or found any pieces lately??
Someone out there must have come across something in the last couple of weeks.
Let us all know and share.
    Happy hunting

  • Hi AJ – your Roselea vase is more commonly known as a “fan vase”
It was made by Wembley/Bristile Ware in the 50?s/60?s
and with the pheasants on it and depending on condition would go for between $80 – $160 depending on which way the wind is blowing and how many bidders want it.
Definitely made in Western Australia and not Japan.

  • Hi, I have a Roselea vase I would like to sell. Green/blue with carnations, gold rim, cream interior.

    • Hello Adrienne. Your vase sounds lovely. If you leave your email address this will enable others to contact you for more information about your vase. All the best. Susan

  • Hi, Does anyone have any information on the Roselea vase with pheasant transfer that appears in the China list of this site. On the bottom it has a circular stamp Wembley Quality Ware with WB in the middle.
It looks like it may have been made in Japan. Any info on where and when it was made, artist etc is greatly appreciated.
    All part to the education.
    Cheers,

  • Yes. Why, have you seem that lustre vase in WA?

  • To all the members and guests that came to the meeting yesterday thank you.
It was lovely to catch up although the time seems to pass so quickly.
I think we all learned a great deal from the guest speakers.
Hope to see you all again soon.
