  • I have a aruta aboriginal man on luster ashtray as damager around neck as been glued back on can anyone tell me if it is worth anythink as my children don’t want it worried it will go on skip sue from London uk vbond70@gmail.com thanks

    • Hello Sue. The damage to your aboriginal ashtray will affect the value. I suggest that you try to sell it on eBay as there could be someone who will buy it, especially if it has been carefully repaired. Good Luck.

  • have a Wembley ware peacock ashtray perfect condition does anyone know a rough price

    • Hi Candy your peacock sounds lovely.
Depending on where you would advertise/sell it I would say $400 upwards.
Hope this helps – give us an update of how you get on.

  • Hi everyone, we have been members for a little while now and thought it about time we shared some of our ‘finds’with you.We have a nice little collection going and some of the recent finds have us stumped as we cant seem to find out much about them. The first one is a Souvenir plate for the Churches of Christ in W.A, Christian centre October 1960, it is in very good condition, also we aquired a full 6 setting dinner set with the rose pattern, a nice pair of snapper salt and pepper shakers, and a CWA 1979 mug with 3 swans and the WA logo and 150 on it. If anyone could tell us if any on these pieces are the run of the mill or the harder to get pieces it would be appreciated , thank you regards Kevin and Sharon from Geraldton

    • Hi Kevin – your finds sound pretty good to me.
Firstly the mug may be the commemorative one for 150 years of W.A. and it would be Bristile.
The salt and peppers are pretty hard to come by.
The dinner set is an amazing find (although there are not many collectors that collect the dinner ware)
Usually cups and saucers may come up or the occasional trio.
The Chrurch of Christ plate pops up every couple of years and I would say they were made for the opening of the building in 1960 and perhaps given or sold to raise money but this is just a guess.
      Good luck with your collecting
